REMINDER: Liquor Stores will close at 4pm on Sunday, March 20th. All Bars + Restaurants in South Boston will close doors between 6-6:30pm and need to be cleared out by 7:00pm on Sunday, March 19th.

It’s our pleasure to bring you all that is hip and happening this St. Patrick’s season leading up to St. Patrick’s Day weekend! We’ll give you suggestions on where to watch the parade, tips on entertaining, where to eat corned beef and cabbage, where to catch some live Irish music, which bars to go to, and so much more. This guide will be updated weekly, so keep checking for new scoop.
Cannonball Cafe
Cannonball Cafe is hosting a St. Pat’s celebration on Sunday, March 17th starting at 10am. Enjoy a pre-parade event with face painters, balloon artists, and goodies to spruce up your festive outfits. Live music will be performed by Boxty Boston, and performances by Irish step dancers from McGonagle School of Irish Dance. Get ready for a day filled with fun, laughter, and a whole lot of green.
St. Patrick’s Day Party at Seapoint
Seapoint is throwing an all-day St. Patrick’s Day Party on Saturday, March 16th! DJ Sean O’Toole will be providing the jams. Stop by to celebrate with a pitcher of beer and corned beef and cabbage!
Castle Island Brewery
CIB Southie taproom, conveniently located just a few steps from the South Boston Parade route, will feature live Irish music by Connacht on Saturday the 16th from 2-5pm, and a performance by Pat Dowling from 2-5pm on Sunday the 17th. This year, they’re stocked up on holiday releases with the launch of Parade Beer (Blonde Ale), and the return of crowd favorites Dearg Doom (Irish Red Ale) and Southie Toast (Dry Irish Stout). We’ll also be serving green lagers all weekend long. Plus, they’re collaborating with Kane’s Donuts to bring you a special donut made with our Parade Beer! A limited amount will be available in each taproom, so be sure to get in early!
St. Paddy’s Day Road Race
Edgerley Family South Boston Boys and Girls Club is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day 5K on Sunday, March 17th. The race will start at 11am. The route is along East and West Broadway with a turnaround at Farragut Statue! It is a perfect way to start your parade day celebrations! To make it even better, 100% of the proceeds will benefit teen programs at the Boys and Girls Club! Cheer on the runners along the route!
Corned Beef + Cabbage
Enjoy a traditional boiled dinner this weekend – just like Nana used to make! It pairs perfectly with a pint of Guinness. Here’s who’s serving it in Southie!
Tune In – It’s the St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast hosted by Sen. Nick Collins will take place at the Ironworkers Local 7 Union Hall in South Boston on the morning of Sunday, March 17th. Featured guests include U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Governor Maura Healey, Congressman Stephen Lynch, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Senate President Karen Spilka, Auditor Diana Dizoglio and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. They will be joined at the dais by Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, Boston City Councilors Ed Flynn and Erin Murphy, State Representative David Biele and US Naval Commander Chance Smith of the USS Truxton (DDG 103). Shamrock Showdown
Join the Timothy “Doc” Cook Scholarship Foundation on Friday, March 15th, and Saturday, March 16th, at the Murphy Rink for the Shamrock Showdown hockey game, where Boston Fire and friends of Tim Cook will take the ice. This is a free event to support the fight to raise awareness for those who suffer from the invisible wounds of PTSD. Love Child is hosting a succulent garden party just in time for spring. The party is Friday, March 15th, from 4-7pm and Saturday, March 16th, all day.
