Be informed.  Get involved.  Looks like state and city officials will be gathering more information when it comes to the potential helipad in the Seaport District of South Boston.  There will be two public hearings; one on January 30th at 7pm in the Amphitheatrt on the mezzanine level of the Seaport World Trade Center and the second one on February 6th from 2pm-4pm in Room 428 of the State House.  Topics like public safety, noise and air pollution and location will be on the agenda.   The helipad was proposed as part of the package to lure General Electric to Boston. The plans for General Electric’s Fort Point headquarters was approved by the Boston Planning and Development Agency last year. The three building complex is expected to be completed in 2018. As to whether or not there will be a public helipad near by, we shall see.  But we have a hunch it will be a reality.
