USS Kearsarge Memorial Rededication – June 14th
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Department of Conservation and Recreation invite you to a rededication of the USS Kearsarge Memorial on Tuesday, June 14th at 11:30am at Marine Park. Free ice cream from the Cookie Monstah Truck compliments of Hanscom Federal Credit Union.
Last June, the old anchor at Marine Park – aka the Kearsage Memorial – dedicated to Naval Veterans of the Civil War, the Spanish War and WWI – was removed for some much needed refurbishing!
Back in 2021, the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council received a grant for $75K to renovate the memorial – and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announced it would match the CPA funds for this memorial!
You can read the history of this memorial here via Anna’s History Lesson!

I’m looking forward to this. A special thank you to Dave Falvey and the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council for getting this started and following through!
