The Mysterious Case of L Street Diner

Many of our readers and followers have reached out to ask, “What’s going on with L Street Diner?” Over a year ago, there was a sign on the door that read, “On vacation,” but that “trip” has expanded into a closure that seems less temporary and more permanent.
We did some digging to find out that the owners of the L and 5th pizzeria and diner sold off its liquor license to Ballers in the Seaport.

Over the weekend we spotted a property clean out crew clearing out the restaurant. So right now we’re surmising that L Street Diner is done. We never had a chance to say goodbye with one last pizza and order of chicken tenders. As to what will go into the spot, we are working on finding out for you!

Is that the same as the L street Tavern
No, two separate places. L Street Diner is at L and 5th
I will miss their breakfasts and pizzas. My grandchildren loved going there and we all loved their pizzas. Heard on WBZradio that they’re just remodeling and will be back. I hope so!!
Workers have said it’s being remodeled and will then reopen. Side note- Alfredos pizza on Dorchester St will soon be closing, to move to their. new location further down the St in the new building on the corner of Old Colony Ave and Dot. The new location will have a big comfortable dining area for eating in. Congratulations to the Alfedos crew, best pizza in town.
It’s a different owner – I’m hearing a diner from Brookline is opening in that spot. Not sure if they’ll call it L Street Diner or not. Thanks for scoop on Alfredo’s!
