Big Dog Energy!
Calling all Southie dog owners! The South Boston Allied War Veterans Council is looking for the 2027 St. Patrick’s Day/Evacuation Day Dog of the Year, and your four-legged friend could take home the title.
The fundraising contest officially kicked off on November 1st and runs through February 19th, 2027. Owners can enter their dogs and raise money to support the 2027 South Boston St. Patrick’s Day/Evacuation Day Parade.
Important deadlines: Participants must raise at least $1,000 by Friday, January 1st, 2027, to meet the initial fundraising requirement. The final fundraising deadline is Friday, February 19th, 2027, at midnight. You can read the rules and regulations here.Â
The dog that raises the most money will be crowned Dog of the Year and celebrated during the parade festivities on Sunday, March 14th, 2027. The top dog will be announced on Saturday, February 20th.
