On Tuesday, State Rep. and Dorchester resident Evandro Carvalho announced his candidacy for the First Suffolk Senate seat – a seat vacated by Linda Dorcena Forry in late January.

State Representative and South Boston resident Nick Collins announced his candidacy last week. Three other candidates have also pulled papers but have not formerly announced – Althea Garrison (no party), Kenny Jervis (D), and Donald Osgood, Sr. (I).

So there you go, we’ve got a race! The primary is April 3rd.
