Dorgan’s Liquor Store in a bit of hot water for St. Patrick’s Shenanigans

On Thursday, the city’s licensing board formally issued a warning against Dorgan’s on East Broadway for selling booze to an under-aged young man on St. Patrick’s Day Parade day.
According to Universal Hub, a licensing detective stopped a man under 21 with a fake Connecticut driver’s license walking out with liquor. In addition to that incident, other patrons were parading out of the liquor store with open containers of alcohol.
The owners of Dorgan’s blamed the lack of employees to handle the crowds in the store. The board stated that it was an unacceptable excuse and pointed out the store’s lack of a modern ID scanner and that lack of one is a risk of losing a liquor license.
Because this was Dorgan’s first offense, the store was issued a warning letter. You can read more about this here.

So the owner of. Dorgan’s blames the problem on “lack of employees” . Isn’t the owner responsible for adequate staffing of HIS business ? Total Wine is going to decimate local wine shops. Look for Dorgans and the place he owns beside it to become condos in the next few years.
When the yuppies discovery Total Wine delivers Chan won’t need more employees.
Sounds like a Realtor wants this property bad and paying for bad publicity. Dorgan’s has supported Southie Sports teams for generations. What do you think someones gonna do if they buy a 6 Pack on St Patricks Day. This is peanuts……..Developers have taken over the neighborhood and shoo people away who are lifers.
