A Boston man has been indicted in connection with the deadly boat crash near Logan Airport that killed a 24-year-old woman earlier this year.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, 40-year-old Lawrence Shieh has been indicted on charges including involuntary manslaughter and operating a boat while intoxicated. He also faces two counts of operating a boat while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, using a boat without authority, and violating security regulations at Logan Airport.

The crash happened in May after Shieh and three women boarded a boat in the Seaport. The vessel struck a pier near Logan Airport around 11:20pm, throwing all four people onto the rocky shoreline. Elizabeth “Lizzie” Dankert, 24, of Andover, later died from her injuries. The two other women were also injured.

The boat belonged to Freedom Boat Club in the Seaport and, according to the company, had been taken without authorization after the club had closed for the night.

Shieh is expected to appear in Suffolk Superior Court on Wednesday morning.
