Crane operator was rescued at Conley Terminal in South Boston

A crane operator was safely rescued on Saturday afternoon after becoming trapped in a crane cab over 200 feet in the air during a malfunction at Conley Terminal in South Boston amid high winds and heavy rain.
Firefighters responded to the incident at the port facility amid severe weather conditions. According to the Boston Fire Department, crews worked in extreme conditions, including strong winds and heavy precipitation, while reaching the operator and completing the rescue operation.
The operator became stuck after the crane malfunctioned while in operation at the terminal. Firefighters conducted a high-angle rescue to access the elevated cab and safely extricate the individual.
The incident occurred at Conley Terminal, a major shipping and cargo facility in the South Boston waterfront area. No information was released regarding injuries or damage resulting from the malfunction.
