If we had a nickel for every time someone tweeted or emailed us asking about the large scale development Washington Village and when construction is going to begin, well, we’d have a lot of nickels. But great news – we’ve got on update on this project!

After a long pause in construction, things are about to get moving.  According to the Boston Globe, Washington Village could break ground this summer. The developers of Washington Village presented their latest plan to the City of Boston’s zoning board last week.  The plan includes seven buildings – including 750 apartment along Old Colony Ave. and Damrell Street.

The ZBA is expected to vote next month.

Back in 2016, the Boston Planning and Development Agency approved the project presented by Core Investments.  Then nothing. In 2018, a new partnership was added into the mix with the addition of Samuel & Associates.

In addition to seven buildings and 750 apartments, there will also be retail space and green space.  You can learn more about this project there.
