Washington Village gets a new partner
If we had a nickel for every email we got inquiring about the large scale development Washington Village and when construction is going to begin, well, we’d have a lot of nickels. But great news – we’ve got on update on this project!
According to a statement, Samuels & Associates and Core Investments Inc. will form a new partnership in connection with the Washington Village development. Washington Village will feature 656 units plus retail space along Damrell Street between Old Colony Ave. and Dorchester Ave.
From the statement:
Samuels & Associates will bring its considerable expertise in residential community development, placemaking, and project management to the table in support of this dynamic, mixed-use project. The combined team will work collaboratively with the community and the City of Boston in the months ahead to move this important source of new housing, ground floor retail, and activation of public spaces forward.
Core Investments Inc., with extensive experience in the Boston real estate market, led an extensive process to permit Washington Village, located at 235 Old Colony Ave. and adjacent parcels that total about five acres. Samuels & Associates, headquartered in Boston, MA, has been building communities for more than two decades.
No word yet, when construction will officially begin. But things are moving in the right direction.
A little history lesson Washington Village!
Great! This project is moving at a crawl, hopefully this will speed things up.
Sounds like a $$$$ issue ..
.
I can’t wait for 656 more cars on the streets of Southie, this should help both with public safety and traffic
