Historic Home on East Broadway in South Boston Sells for $2.6M

Wowza! This is not our grandfather’s Southie.

Recently, MassLive posted about a recent real estate sale on East Broadway in Southie!  (You can see the post below aggregated by Real Estate Newswire via MassLive.)

A spacious historic house located at 777 East Broadway in South Boston has new owners. The 2,838-square-foot property, built in 1895, was sold on Sept. 10, 2024, for $2,610,000, or $920 per square foot.

This three-story house offers a roomy layout with six bedrooms and four bathrooms. On the exterior, the house is characterized by a mansard roof design, featuring roofing made of asphalt. The property is equipped with forced air heating and a cooling system.

Additionally, the house features a two-car garage. The property occupies a lot of 3,750 square feet.

Also, recently sold in South Boston – two condos for $2,600,000 located at 1778 Columbia Road – Unit 1 and Unit 2.

Back in June, this home on K Street sold for $3M – holy moly!

    As I have shared before these HOUSES are not worth the money paid for them. It is the LAND the houses are on is what they are really paying for. The Cardinal Rule of Real Estate re: House Sales is: LAND, LAND LAND.
    Ask any Realtor and they will confirm this. Also LOCATION is a big plus to a price and SOUTH BOSTON, especially City Point. So don’t be surprised by the prices in this and other Southie neighborhoods.

    I grew up on East Broadway in the 60s My friend lived here so I’ve been in this house many times. Seeing it sure does bring back memories.

    My 5 grade teacher at the Perry lived here and when I broke my leg in Little League I went to her house to be tutored, Fond memories of Ms Kelly. Thanks mucho
