Cheers to the Winter! Loco Taqueria + Oyster Bar is open for lunch on Fridays for Winter Lunchin’ Land from 11:30am – 5:00pm with live music!  Winter Lunchin’ Land will run through January 26 and has has all of the Loco favorites from Executive Chef Matt Drummond (street corn, tacos, nachos, Taco salad, etc) alongside new winter cocktails from Beverage Manager Kaitlyn Fischer.

Drink:
Apres Ski! Skip the long drive to the mountains and cozy up with Publico every Friday and Saturday this winter at The Lodge at Publico! Sip on Spiked Hot Chocolate around our fire pits while you enjoy Grilled Vermont Shreddar Cheese. The official launch party is  Friday!  The Lodge at Publico will be open every Friday and Saturday from 6pm-closing  through the winter!  We highly recommend participating in the “Shot Skis!”

Shop:
It’s important to help support local small businesses during all this snow.  Make an effort to do a little shopping this weekend. Put on your boots, take a walk, and spend some money!   Here’s a guide to our local boutiques!

Sled:
Take the kids or revisit your childhood with a trip to the Pit  on Farragut Road near the Murphy Rink.  Grab a sled (available at Economy Hardware) and hit the hill at this old school favorite sledding spot in South Boston.

Workout:
Cure your cabin fever with a trip to the gym!  From boxing to the barre class, Southie’s got something for everybody and all within walking distance.  Check out our picks here!

See:
Check out all the art and exhibits at the ICA this weekend!  They survived the flooding in the Seaport and are open all weekend!  While you’re in the area, grab a drink or dinner at one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood!

Do:
Ice, Ice, Baby! Grab your parka and head to the Envoy Hotel at the Lookout Bar’s six rooftop igloos. The 7-foot-tall, 12-foot-wide weatherproof igloos are heated, of course, and are perfect for sipping cocktails while enjoying those skyline and harbor views. The igloos are available on a first come, first served basis on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 4-10pm through the winter and fleece blankets are available to keep you extra cozy.

Celebrate:
Happy 4th Anniversary Radiant Yoga!  For the past four years, Radiant has been leading Southie in vinyasa flow, rock and flow and restorative yoga with all their heart and soul!  Over the weekend, celebrate with them by taking one of their many classes!  It’s the perfect way to stay warm this weekend! You can check them out here!

Donate:
Warm Hands Warm Hearts.  This is the perfect time of year to help those less fortunate.  Clean out that closet and help those in need.  Mass Bay Credit Union is hosting its annual Coat and Warm Clothing drive in partnership with Friends of Boston’s Homeless Warm Hands Warm Heart campaign.  Kindly donate new or gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves and socks.  Donations boxes are located in all of Mass Bay’s branches including the one in South Boston.  The charitable drive is in its seventh year and has become a vital Mass Bay Credit Union tradition that members and staff look forward to participating in every year.  Donations will be accepted until January 31st.  Mass Bay Credit Union is located at 147 West Fourth Street.
