In the wake of the news of Amhreins and Dorchester Brewing Co. closing for the winter months, Coppersmith is joining them.  Via an instagram post on Tuesday afternoon they announced they will be hibernating for the winter months.

To our friends and family after much consideration we have decided to go into hibernation for the winter months. Thank you for your continued support especially these past dreadful months. We look forward to seeing and serving you again in the early spring. Happy holidays and stay safe ❤️ #staysafe

Coppersmith has plans to reopen in mid-February – just in time to enjoy spring weather on their gorgeous rooftop!  Eventually, the West Second Street restaurant will close down to be developed into a new life science building.

This news comes on the heels of several other restaurants closing for now announced on Monday and last week.

Recently in Southie the following restaurants have closed or are closing for the winter:

Gray’s Hall

Drink, Menton and Sportello will be closing for the month of January.
