Bring back the Punk + Poet

Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting that Southie hot spot Shenannigans would like to transfer its liquor license to a new restaurant tentatively called The Quays. The manager listed on the application is Seth Delury who is part of the Magnificent Seven Inc. family. Julian Bolger – The Playwright, The Bowery Bar and Lucy’s – is also part of this group!

Sounds promising!

Why is it so difficult for women to open a restaurant and have to liquor license in Boston?

The new owners aren’t stupid. Shenanigans has the best bar food in a Southie . They will keep up the quality or lose the clientele. Julian Bolgers brother Robbie Fitzharris is rumored to be involved. He of Rosa Lyons fame & a huge supporter of the South Boston community. Look for Shenanigans to improve with better.Service under the watchful eye of Robbie. Fear not south Bostonians, this pub is in very capable hands.

Sad to see Shenanigans go…. I hope and pray that the staff are allowed to continue to work there…they are great workers!!!! My friends and I are there all the time….I hope it keeps up the same standards that Shenanigans exhibited.

My dear friend adopted a baby girl from China, 23 years ago. We brought that baby to her first Irish pub, Shenanigans. Carolanne and Domenic waited on us. Valerie was on a day off. Carolanne and Domenic are still there. We are still dear friends with Carolanne, Domenic, and Val. The food did not keep us going to Shenanigans, the Staff was the draw. We are not interested in the new establishment, if Carolanne, Domenic, Casey, Kieran, Hallie, Debra. Sheila and the other great staff are gone.
