A little off the top: The Playwright transformation
To quote the great Rob Fitzharris of Roza Lyons fame, who sent us this photo, “A little off the top!” The top floor of the old Playwright building has been removed and soon the rest of the building will be gone too.
We knew it was on the horizon – The Playwright closed for some major renovations. Back in March of 2021, the Boston Planning and Development Agency approved a development proposal for the Playwright and the parking lot next door.
The new development will include a 4-story mixed-use building that will expand the ground floor restaurant space while retaining the Playwright Bar and Restaurant. There will be office space in addition to eight residential units.

Where do I send a press release for the 41st Anniversary Ceremony for the South Boston Vietnam Memorial?
Thank you
Tommy
Robbie Fitzharris is one of the great philosophers of our time. Glad he’s finally quoted in CIS. Will you please tell Tommy Lyons where to send his 41st Anniversary Press release. Is it true that Rosa Lyons named after Rosa Parks and Tommy Lyons ? In any event, it’s the top pub/restaurant in the neighborhood.
