The Scoop on Parade Day/St. Patrick’s Day








The Cornerstone Pub (16 West Broadway) will be open for the last St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Southie!  The legendary bar/restaurant will close this year.  Stop in and say goodbye with one last toast!  We hear they are planning a big neighborhood “last call” party in April.  Stay tuned for more details!

Corned beef and cabbage just like Nana used to make.  The Seapoint (367 East Eighth Street) is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th serving the traditional meal of irish immigrants – corned beef and cabbage.  The 35 year old family run South Boston business will also be featuring live irish music all day.  They will be closed parade day!

Down the street at Touchie’s Shamrock Pub (501 East Eighth Street), they’ll also be serving the traditional boiled dinner on Saturday, March 14th, Monday, March 16th and of course on March 17th!   They will be closed parade day.  

Lincoln (425 West Broadway) will be open at 10am on parade day with a limited.  The same goes for Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar.  

Stephi’s in Southie (130 Dorchester Ave.) will have traditional Irish fare like corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, Guinness beef stew, and Irish breakfast served from March 14th – March 17th.  there will also be specialty cocktails like Whiskey in the Jar, Blarney Marys, and Irish coffee. 

The Paramount Southie (667 East Broadway) will have Irish nachos, corned beef and cabbage, Guinness beef stew, shepherd’s pie, sea bass, and a special molten chocolate cake. They will be serving up this festive fare on Friday, March 13th – Tuesday, March 17th.  They will be closed on Sunday for the parade.  

Moonshine 152 (152 Dorchester Ave.) will be open with their take on corned beef with with chive mashed potatoes which will be bright green to celebrate!  It will be standing room only on parade day with a 10am start.  Moonshine will feature a  menu of shortrib tacos, corned beef sandwiches, brats and sauerkraut subs, and french fries.  They will even have jello shots!  

Speaking of jello shots, Social Wines (50 West Broadway) will be hosting a Gelology Pop-Up Shop on Saturday March 14th from 1pm-3:30pm with featuring some festive and fancy gelatin shamrocks.  Citrus Shamrocks Triple citrus & 44 North Nectarine vodka gelee with an embedded vanilla bean sweetened condensed milk gelatin shamrock.  Also pick up some chocolate Guinness cupcakes with Grand Ten South Boston Irish Whiskey and Irish Cream shot.

Barlow’s (241 A Street) is getting in the spirit with live Irish music on Saturday, March 14th beginning at 8pm.  They will also be open on parade day – stop by for a pint of Guinness before or after the parade!

The Urban Art Bar (709 East Broadway) will be celebrating parade day with their famous Bloody Mary Bar, food, and enough elbow room to comfortably enjoy the festivities.

MJ O’Connor’s (425 Summer Street) is celebrating March 17th with Irish step dancing at 6pm.  They will also have traditional Irish fare like corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and plenty of Guinness on draft!   Stop by and get in the spirit!

Carbo-load before you carbo-load some more!  Boston Bagel Company (752 East Broadway) will be open in the morning until 12noon.  Stop by and pick up an egg sandwich or a a dozen bagels before your parade day festivities!

Burgerlicious!  Tasty Burger (69 L Street) will be open on parade day!  Sullivan’s Castle Island will NOT be open on parade day.  

Foodie’s (230 West Broadway) will be closed on parade day but is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with with a special: buy any corned beef and get a 1 lb. bag of carrots or a head of green cabbage for free.

Local Pols partying like rock stars this St. Patrick’s Day:
Raise your glass!  It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and City Council President and Southie native Bill Linehan is throwing his annual party and 2015 campaign kickoff at JJ Foley’s (117 East Berkeley Street) on Wednesday, March 11th from 6pm-9pm.  There will be live Irish music, great pub food and good company!  Tickets are $50

Representative Nick Collins is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party at Lincoln Tavern on Tuesday March 17th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  There will be live Irish music from Bobby Fowkes and plenty of great company.  The back room is reserved and direct entry will be granted at the door if there is line.
