The cold winds of March were whipping along the beach on Monday evening at Pleasure Bay. Members of the South Boston Youth Hockey League Squirt AA gathered to watch hockey skills coach David Ivaska plunge into the icy waters of Boston Harbor. Why, you ask? Well, Ivaska is a man of his word.
“I told the kids at the beginning of the year that if they won the States, I would jump into the lagoon. They worked their butts off this year,” said Ivaska.
Recently, the Squirt AAs won the State Championships, so Ivaska, with an audience of very excited players, jumped right in!
Way to go!
