Home to a mix of young professionals, newly engaged 20- somethings, and generations of lifelong residents, Southie’s spring social scene is a thriving one.  Weddings, graduations, showers—special occasions dot social calendars the way new developments line Broadway. Just ask Julie Pike and Eileen Sherman, founders of the new South Boston boutique, Fete Collection.

“No one can party better than Southie, especially at this time of the year,” says Sherman, who with Pike, saw a hole in the Boston market for party planning. Enter the duo’s brainchild, Fete Collection. A one-stop-shop for special occasions, Fete features a well-curated collection of paper goods, gifts, apparel, and accessories.

“We hope to be a fun neighborhood staple for Southie’s growing population—women coming in for a dress to wear on a date night or men stopping by to pick up a present for their girlfriend’s birthday,” says Sherman. “Then, we’d love to see them again when they get engaged to help pick out their save-the-dates, invitations, and gifts for their wedding party.”

Whether you’re in the market for a one-off gift or the whole party-planning shebang, Pike and Sherman know what they’re doing: Combined, they offer over two decades of experience in the retail and event planning space—Pike’s past clients even include MTV and the White House.

Located at 345 D Street in South Boston, Fete Collection is open to walk-ins Wednesday to Saturday and widely available for private appointments (which are highly encouraged). Visit www.shopfete.com to learn more.
