Eat:
Corned Beef and Cabbage just like Nana used to make!  Lots of Southie restaurants are getting in the spirit with this traditional Irish meal.  To find out who’s serving check out our Guide. 

Drink:
Raise your glass!  It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend and you know what that means?  Green beer!  The Broadway and The Punk & Poet will be serving it up all weekend long! There will also be bag pipers on Saturday!

Brunch:
Worden Hall will be featuring two days of St. Paddy’s Day Brunch on Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th.  Highlights include, Irish Hand Pies: Guinness-braised beef short rib, cheddar, bechamel, chive sour cream,  Corned Beef and Cabbage sandwich: Houesemade Corned Beef, braised cabbage, whole grain mustard, Irish cheddar, marbled rye bread, Short Rib Shepherd’s Pie:  Guinness braised short rib, Yukon gold mashed potato, carrots, onions, and parsnips, Irish cheddar and Bangers and Mash with Onion Gravy:  Pork sausages,  Colcannon mashed potatoes, sweet onion gravy!  Yum!

Shop:
Wearing O’ the Green!  Need something wear this St. Patrick’s Day?  Well, we’ve got you covered!  Southie’s Own has everything from Irish knit sweaters, to scally caps, Southie t-shirts, and green hoodies galore! Run:
Run Southie run!  It’s the St. Patrick’s Day Rad Road Race! Established 1940.  This Festive and healthy 5K Road Race starts and ends at Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club, corner of F and West Sixth Street.  All proceeds benefit South Boston Boys & Girls Club.  First 650 to register receive Official Race Shirt, designed by Dropkick Murphys!  Limited number of limited editions shirts on sale race weekend wicked cheap ($10!) March 18th – 11 AM Start.  Rad Youth Rock-Pop Band the Harmaniacs to perform before the start at 10:20.  Register here!

Cheer:

Dance:
Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar is getting into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a Mexican twist! DJ Lazeeboy will be playing from 12-4!  Get your dancing shoes ready!

See:
Congressman Stephen Lynch and City Councilor Michael Flaherty are hosting the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast on March 18th at 10am.  Tune into NECN to watch.

Do:
We love a parade!  It’s the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Southie on Sunday!  The fun begins at 1pm! For parade route and where to watch, visit here! 

Play:
The Seaport District has Glowing Musical Seesaws and they’ll be getting in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit! On Saturday, March 17th you can enjoy beer will seesawing! Enjoy beer from Night Shift Brewing, live music, and lite bites at the seesaws in Seaport Common. Hop on a seesaw, play lawn games, and maybe win a prize. Open free to the public.  11am-4pm.

Listen:
Feel like tapping your foot or clapping your hands!  There will be live Irish music on Saturday, March 17th at the Seapoint – along with corned beef and cabbage of course beginning at 11am!

Workout:
Lucky you! East Side Yoga is getting into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit on March 17th.  All class all class attendees will receive green smoothies courtesy of The Juice Box! Plus wear your favorite green, gold and/or white to class! Classes – 8:30 am Strength & Conditioning with Natalie, 9:45 am Vinyasa Flow with Lisa L, 11:00 Power Flow with Kate.  There’s also a St. Patrick’s Day 10-pack flash sale happening through March 17th.  Purchase a 10-pack of classes for only $135 – cash only.  Expires 6 months from date of purchase. Participate:
In addition to St. Patrick’s day on Saturday – it’s also Evacuation Day.  Evacuation day is when the Revolutionary army aka the Patriots sent the British army packing for the motherland!  How did they do it, with 50 plus cannons stolen and transported by none other than Henry Knox!  Exercises start on Saturday at 10am at Dorchester Heights.  See you there!

Opening:
Shredded opens on Friday at 246 West Broadway and will feature delicious salads and noodle bowls! The new healthy concept restaurant will be serving up items like “Cowboy Up” Steak Salad with Roasted Flank Steak, Farro, Arugula, Charred Red Onion, Roasted Chick Peas, Blue Cheese Vinaigrette and Sweet Potato Pad Thai with Sweet Potato Noodles, Carrots, Chopped Egg, Scallions, Cilantro, Bean Sprouts, and topped with Toasted crushed peanuts!  To see what Shredded’s up to, follow them on Instagram!
