Daffodil Festival Celebration at Fresh

This weekend is Daffodil Festival on Nantucket and the official season opener for Fresh’s OG location! What is “Daffy” you may ask? Well…people wear flower hats and yellow clothing while frolicking around the island while celebrating Daffodils blooming.  On Saturday and Sunday, Fresh will throw a Daffy-themed brunch party complete with boozy buckets, special cocktails, games, and more. Dragtacular Brunch – Destiny’s Child at Laugh

Southie Saturday Run Club with MySTRYDE

Join MyStryde every Saturday at 8:30am from the South Boston studio for a 6-mile loop. Think you won’t have runners in your pace group? Think again! To make sure they support all levels and paces, they’re providing FIVE different pace groups (7/8 min per mile, 8/9 min per mile, 9/10 min per mile, 10/11 min per mile, and 11/12 min per mile) lead by our new run club pacers. Mei Mei Dumpling Making Class

Learn the art of handmade dumplings at Mei Mei, two-time winner of Boston Magazine’s “ Best Dumplings.”  In this 2-hour hands-on class, you’ll learn everything you need to make delicious dumplings from scratch. Dumpling fillings include non-traditional lemongrass pork and cabbage, our vegetarian cheddar scallion potato, and a rotating vegan special. The class covers everything from hand-folding techniques to how to achieve a perfect pan-sear at home. After you learn how to fold some of our favorite shapes, you’ll get to eat your creations with a variety of dipping sauces from our sauce bar. Mei Mei will send you home with some of the dumplings you made, along with a recipe card and all the tips and tricks you need to host your very own dumpling party!  You can sign up here! 

Boston Design Week: Data Wagashi

Explore the future of accessible data experience through multisensory data physicalization at DataWagashi! This fun event takes place on Saturday, April 29th, 1pm-2:30pm at The Paseo at 111 Harbor Way in the Seaport.  Come to hear the talk, enjoy the conversations, taste the sweets, and push the boundary of communicating data stories.  Tickets are $15. Volunteer – Love Your Block

Mix and mingle with friends and neighbors on Saturday as you volunteer to do a little spring cleaning! Join the West Broadway Neighborhood Association at 10am to mulch, plant, paint, and pick-up trash in the neighborhood. Meet at the Six West Restaurant located at the Cambria Hotel across from the Broadway T Station. Coffee and snacks are to be generously provided by Steve Dray (GM) of Six West Restaurant. Tools and T-shirts will be provided. The rain date will be Sunday April 30th at 10 AM. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan on joining!  The Andrew Square Civic Association will be meeting at 10am at Preble + Rogers streets. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be a free kids activity too!

Barre at the Beer Hall – POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN – NEW DATE

Harpoon Brewery will host a free exercise class on Saturday, May 7th at 11am with a free class from Pure Barre. Pure Barre is leading a 50-minute classes that focus on low-impact, high-intensity movements. You can register here. Make sure to bring a yoga mat, water, and sneakers. Register here!

Now Open – Reel House Oyster Bar

Picture yourself with a glass of rose in hand, enjoying freshly shucked oysters by the ocean. Reelhouse Oyster Bar is officially open at 10 Waterside Ave. in the Seaport District! In addition to oysters, Reelhouse Oyster Bar will also feature Neapolitan pizza and bar snacks, plus beer, wine, and cocktails.  This is the third location for Reelhouse.  Other locations include East Boston and Marina Bay.

The Bruins faceoff against the Panthers in Game 6 on Friday at 7:30pm.  The Bruins lead the series 3-2.  If a Game 7 is needed, it will take place on Sunday TBD.  The Celtics play the Hawks for Game 6 on Thursday at 8:30pm.  Celtics lead the series 3-2.  If a Game 7 is needed, it will take place on Saturday at 7:30pm.  The Red Sox face the Guardians this weekend with games on Friday at 7:10pm, Saturday at 4:10pm and Sunday at 1:35pm.  Here are 10 Places to Watch in the Neighborhood!
