Now Open – Chilacates Mexican Street Food

69 L Street is now home to the wildly popular Chilacates!  This Mexican street food restaurant has many other locations in the Boston area, including Brighton, Brookline, Roslindale, and Mission Hill, with South Boston becoming the newest neighborhood spot! Chilacates, named for a Mexican pepper, will feature tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesdillas, tortas and more!

Donate a Children’s Book to CBCU Book Drive

The City of Boston Credit Union (CBCU) is hosting a children’s book drive throughout April in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings and in the spirit of One Boston Day, which will be held on Saturday, April 15.  You can get all the details here!

Marathon Bouquets via Love Child

Love Child’s Marathon bouquet features a vibrant mix of yellow and blue blooms and is hand wrapped with love! Treat your loved one to something special after months of training! Each bouquet also includes a custom-made Boston Marathon “Congratulations” card! There is an option to keep the stems hydrated by wrapping them with special floral paper drenched in water, so you can easily bring with you to the finish line! These limited-quantity bouquets are available for pick up as soon as April 15th, and we are OPEN on Marathon Monday for pick up too. You can place your order here!

On Friday, we sing! Fat Baby will be hosting karaoke on Friday starting at 9:30pm. Plan on having some pre-performance dumplings + mai tais!

A week from Friday, on Friday, April 21st from 10am-2pm, plan on volunteering at the Seedling Bagging Volunteer Event! Join Speak For The Trees and prepare over 1,000 seedlings for distribution for Arbor Week. Come enjoy snacks, coffee, and company as you help build a greener Boston for all. Southie Saturday Run Club with MySTRYDE

Join MyStryde every Saturday at 8:30am from the South Boston studio for a 6-mile loop. Think you won’t have runners in your pace group? Think again! To make sure they support all levels and paces, they’re providing FIVE different pace groups (7/8 min per mile, 8/9 min per mile, 9/10 min per mile, 10/11 min per mile, and 11/12 min per mile) lead by our new run club pacers. On Sunday, April 16th enjoy a special yoga class to benefit The Katy and Ellie Collaborative with special guest yoga instructor David Vendetti! This event takes place from 9:30am-11:30am at Artist for Humanity located at 100 West First Street.

One Boston Day  – April 15th

Let’s honor and reflect on all that is strong and resilient about the City of Boston!  You’re also encouraged to perform an act of kindness! Why not do a good deed by performing a simple act of kindness in the neighborhood? Here are some suggestions! 

Puppy Love

Over 100 Golden Retrievers will gather to honor Spencer and Penny. A golden retriever meetup group is organizing a gathering of over 100 Goldens at the Boston Marathon finish line to honor Spencer, the pup known for holding flags on the marathon route, and his sister Penny. Sadly, both dogs passed away in February.  The goldens will wear yellow bandanas and walk down Boylston Street on Sunday, April 16th.  They will meet at Boston Commons at 11am. 

Live Music

Hunter’s is featuring Stu Sinclair at 5pm on Friday.  On Saturday, it’s Rob Joyce at 3pm, and on Sunday Matty Sheehan will play at 2pm followed by It’s Ya Boy KR at 9pm.

Capo has DJ Silent Partner at 8pm on Friday; on Saturday, it’s the Beat Drops at 8pm on Sunday; it’s Sinatra Sunday with Rich DiMare and the Ron Poster Trio.

DJ Kait will be playing Friday night at Shenannigans! 

Legends of Summer will be playing at Lincoln on Sunday at 6pm.
