Have fun! It’s February Vacation week and here are some suggestions of fun things to do with the kids! From bowling to animals, we’ve got it all!

Hot diggety dog! A welcomed sign of spring happens this weekend – Sullivan’s will be open for business! The legendary hot dog stand opens its doors on Saturday, February 24th. Enjoy half priced hot dogs ($95 cents plus tax) and help celebrate Sully’s 67th season!

We’ll drink to that! It’s National Margarita Day on Thursday, February 22nd. Head to Loco to celebrate! Join! Whether you are from the County Galway or from the isle of Sicily, the South Boston Irish American Society want you to join! The SBIAS is a social group that gets together several times a year for some good old-fashioned fun including trips, parties and special events. It’s just $10 per person to join! So why not join! It’s great way to socialize and meet some new friends. Like they say in Ireland, “There are no strangers here, just friends you haven’t met yet.” Remember you don’t have to be Irish to be a member! The SBIAS Annual St. Patrick’s Day Banquet is Saturday, March 10th at 7pm at the Seapoint Restaurant (upstairs) with live Irish music and corned beef and cabbage! Pitch in! Have you noticed how dirty our neighborhood streets are? Well, some local businesses, organizations and neighbors want you to join them in cleaning up Southie!  Whether you join a group clean up or simply sweep in front of your home or business, it’s going to make a huge difference!  Operation Clean Sweep South Boston will take place over School Vacation Week – February 17th-25th.  Getting rid of litter is the goal, so, even if you have only a few minutes, please make an effort to pick up trash that you see around the neighborhood.  We need everyone’s help to get the word out and to provide the labor to make this effort a success!
