It’s February Vacation week and here are some suggestions of fun things to do with the kids!

Staycation! Located right on D Street in Southie, Aloft and Element are the perfect hotels to book for your family to have a sleepover including swimming pools! If you live in Boston you get a resident discount rate for both hotels, so why not surprise the kids with some overnight family fun!

Create something! Grab your friends and unleash your inner artist at Yaymaker’s Original Paint Nite. This all ages event will take place on Saturday, February 23rd at Aloft Hotel in the Seaport District at 401 D Street from 2:00p until 4:00p. Guided by a talented and entertaining artist, kids and adults will paint an underwater scene and have fun doing it. Tickets are $35 and include all the materials and can be purchased here!

Skating by! The Murphy Rink is offering public skating through the winter.  If you don’ t have skates, don’t worry.  You can rent them from Teddy – he is the skate master (and local legend).  If your blades are dull, he’ll sharpen ’em up for you! So bundle up the family and head to the rink! Hours of Public Skating during school vacation are Tuesday-Friday 10am-3pm.

Lace up those bowling shoes! Head to East Broadway to Southie Candlepin and bowl a few strings at this old school institution! They are open daily 12pm-7pm.  Are big balls more of your thing? Kings Dining & Entertainment in the Seaport District offers all kinds of fun!
