Neighborhood Night at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
If you’re like us, going to the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum is on your summer bucket list! Well, great news! You can explore the museum’s galleries after hours for free at the museum’s neighborhood night! This summer’s series invites visitors to explore themes drawn from the Museum’s new special exhibition Big Plans: Picturing Social Reform, considering historical landscape architecture, and envisioning their own alternative “counter-maps” today. Each Neighborhood Night will feature performances, hands-on art-making, food trucks, a cash bar, and gallery games. You can check out the line up here.
Caught in Eastie: Cool Sculpting Event

It’s Tenean Beach Day on Sunday, August 3rd from 11am-3pm hosted by the Port Norfolk Civic Association. This FREE family friendly day will feature bounce houses, dunk tanks, sumo suits, canoes, paddle boards, food, ice cream, a pirate story teller, circus performers, face painting and more! Holy Moly! Talk about fun in the sun! There will also be a live DJ, Larry the Lobster and friends, and Dot Art!
CPA Neighborhood Meeting
City Councilor Ed Flynn and City Councilor Michael Flaherty are partnering with Director Christine Poff to host a South Boston meeting on the Community Preservation Act (CPA). The meeting will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 6:00pm at the Tynan Elementary School. This meeting aims to provide information and resources for residents and organizations in South Boston who may want to apply for funding from the CPA, and will discuss the funding application process, the timeline, eligible projects, and other related information. Lobster, shrimp and oysters, oh my!
Celebrate the 8th Annual Boston Seafood Festival at Boston Fish Pier at the on Sunday, August 4th. Hosted by the Boston Fisheries Foundation, this one-day festival takes place on the historic Boston Fish Pier from 11am to 6pm. Guests can look forward to chef demos, a live DJ, shucking contests, educational events, and, yep, tastings! General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children aged six through 12, and free for children aged five and under. Lobster Bake tickets include general admission, and are on sale for $53.
