Lobster, shrimp and oysters, oh my!

Hosted by the Boston Fisheries Foundation, this one-day festival takes place on the historic Boston Fish Pier from 11am to 6pm.  Guests can look forward to chef demos, a live DJ, shucking contests, educational events, and, yep, tastings!  General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children aged six through 12, and free for children aged five and under. Lobster Bake tickets include general admission, and are on sale for $53.

Maritime Heritage

The festival serves as a way to celebrate Boston’s deep maritime heritage and encourages all to learn about the oldest industry in the United States. This year’s Festival showcases the Battle of the Shuckers oyster-shucking competition,  two Harpoon Brewery Beer Gardens, fish prep demonstrations, and more. New for 2019, the festival will showcase new advancements in seafood sustainability. The event will offer free guided tours of the Polkadog Bakery, where dog and cat treats are made daily from fish skins. Here, the creation of the pet treats helps maximize the yield of each catch, reducing waste and keeping area pets very happy.
