Labor Day
Labor Day is Monday, September 7th! Although we celebrate the unofficial end of summer, learn the history of the holiday here. Then raise your glass to the American worker.
Watch where you park
If you utilize BPS school parking lots for parking, beginning September 8th, parking rules will be enforced and towing will occur. No parking Monday-Friday 6am-6pm and any school events.
Rooftop Yoga to benefit the Ollie
Enjoy a 60 minute yoga class on the Coppersmith rooftop taught by Orla O’Brien! Not only will you get a great workout, you’ll be helping out the South Boston Neighborhood House! Class is $20 and is suitable for all levels. 100% of proceeds go to the South Boston Neighborhood House. You can register here! Please bring your own mat or towel. Mats will be placed a minimum of six feet apart. You must wear a mask to/from class and only remove it when you are safely on your own mat. Treat yourself to brunch post class at Coppersmith at 11am!
Save the Date
Virtual Community meeting will take place on Monday, September 14th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. to discuss a change of occupancy from a restaurant to cannabis establishment at 324 A Street. Gut rehab of space. You can learn more here.
Virtual Boston Marathon
Maura Gavaghan is part of the Spaulding Rehab Team that will run a virtual Boston Marathon on Saturday, September 12th! The team’s route winds through the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Southie, through downtown, over to Charlestown, Cambridge and back through Southie with our finish line at the Farragut Statue. Maura is running on Team Spaulding as a way to show her gratitude for the role they played in her brother Brendan’s recovery a few years ago.
