NBC10 Boston, Telemundo Boston and NECN, in partnership with the Dorchester Reporter and the Bay State Banner, will host, broadcast and livestream an hour-long live general election Boston mayoral debate inside the NBCUniversal Boston Media Center on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. The second and final debate with candidates Annissa Essaibi George and Michelle Wu will be moderated by Latoya Edwards. The General Election for Mayor of Boston and City Council is on Tuesday, November 2nd. Here are our takeaways from last debate last week. 

New Business Openings this Week!

Maybe it’s the little paddles or the sound the ball makes when it hits the table, but we love ping pong.  So when we saw a post on social media stating that a ping pong club would be opening on Melcher Street, we were thrilled. SPIN, the beloved ping pong social club founded in New York City in 2009 is expanding with its 10th outpost in Fort Point!  It is set to open on October 20th! You can learn more here!  Tatte Bakery will open as the anchor tenant at 60-70 Old Colony Ave on October 20th.  The wildly popular and chic bakery will offer classes and workshops open to the public, and have a viewing area of the production space which will serve all Tatte’s Massachusetts locations as they undertake significant expansion.  You can learn more here!

See the new baby giraffe at Franklin Park

The news of the new baby girl giraffe calf born at the Franklin Park Zoo excited us all! Well, you’ll be able to see her and her mom this week at the Zoo! Exhibit hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for calf and mom, Amari.

Shred it!  Forget it!

Mass Bay Credit Union is hosting their wildly popular shredding event!  Members and residents who live in the community are invited to bring any documents that contain sensitive information and have them shredded safely and for free!  There is a five-box maximum. This event will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 9:00AM-11:30AM at Mass Bay Credit Union 147 West 4th Street.
