Prepare to Recycle those Christmas Trees

Recycle those dried-out Christmas trees this week! The City of Boston will be collecting them for the first two full weeks in January! Place trees at the curb by 6am on trash day. No decorations, bags, stands or lights on the tree. The tree will be shredded up to be used as compost. The compost will be distributed in various Boston parks o help new things grow! Eversouce Work in Southie

From Tuesday, December 27th to Friday, December 30th from 8am-3pm, Eversource will be working on Old Colony Ave + Morrissey Blvd. as part of the Andrew Square to Dewar Street reliability project.

Boardwalk Pizza in Southie is now open

Boardwalk Pizza is now open in the old AK’s spot at the corner of D and Second Street (the old Teamsters Pub for all you lifelong residents). This is the Boardwalk Pizza’s second location. It first opened at Marina Bay back in 2020 and features thin-crust pizzas and sandwiches. Boston Magazine recently included Boardwalk Pizza in their roundup of Where to Find the Best Pizza in Boston Right Now (although Quincy is not Boston) so that sounds promising!

Let’s go skating!

Looking for a fun way to keep the kids entertained? Lace up the skates and hit the ice.  The Murphy Rink is now offering public skating.  If you don’t have skates, don’t worry, you can rent them! If your blades are dull, you can get them sharpened there too!
