We Did It, Southie — Street Cleaning Season Is (Basically) Over!

Love it or hate it, Street cleaning ends November 30th.

Give yourselves a round of applause and pat on the back, South Boston — we officially made it to the end of street-cleaning season. No more alerts on your phone, no more running outside in pajamas and sprinting to move your car before BTD shows up. No more realizing that you left your car double-parked for over 5 hours. At least until April.

So be honest… how’d you do this year?

  • Did you get a ticket?

  • Got towed? (Ouch.)

  • Or did you somehow beat the system and make it through unscathed?

However it went, consider this week a victory. The streets are clean, and parking gets just a tiny bit less stressful for a while.

Congrats, Southie — we survived.

See you in April… when the “fun” starts all over again.

I’ll never forget my husband and my’s first day in our new place in Southie years ago. Moved in on a Wednesday and woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed on a Thursday morning at 9:30. Heard the street cleaners and thought, surely not us? Oh surely us indeed. Both cars, gone! There’s nothing like being welcomed to Southie than by a ticket and tow :) some lessons are best learned the hard way and we’ve never been towed since!

Tbh we just need to get rid of street cleaning.

They suck at doing it and they just get more expensive and worse as time goes on. This guy I watched sweep the road didn’t even make a difference. The leaves and everything were all still right there. So why do we have to deal with the costs and upkeep of the road when they don’t even do a good job.

They want our money is all it’s about guys. If they cared about the roads why aren’t they fixed but nah we got potholes and cobblestone everywhere! This place is a joke and total dump. Y’all are all fooling yourselves thinking you live in luxury area. SMH
