Traffic Advisory: World Cup Match on June 16, 2026 – Summer Street Closed

Traffic Advisory: For the June 16 match between Norway and Iraq at Boston Stadium, the MBTA will implement a Traffic Management Plan that closes Summer Street from Purchase Street at Dewey Square to Dorchester Avenue at 7 a.m. The street is scheduled to remain closed until 5:30 p.m.
Temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be in place on Summer Street, Atlantic Avenue, and Essex Street on Tuesday, June 16:
- Summer Street will be closed from Purchase Street to Dorchester Avenue.
- Essex Street will be closed between South Street and Atlantic Avenue, except for MBTA buses and traffic entering or leaving the 2 Financial Center garages.
- Additional closures of Summer Street will take place from Surface Road to Atlantic Avenue on the outbound travel lanes.
- The I-93 South 16A ramp exit will be closed at the same time as the Summer Street closures.
- Parking regulations will be adjusted on Atlantic Avenue between Kneeland Street and Summer Street.
Changes to these restrictions may be made by the City of Boston’s Police and Transportation Departments. It is important to read all posted signs and variable message boards carefully.
