About The Angel Fund:
The Angel Fund is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to support ALS research at the Day Neuromuscular Research Laboratory at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester. 100% of funds raised by The Angel Fund go directly to ALS research. ALS (or Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a fatal neuro-degenerative disease characterized by muscle weakness and a progressive wasting and paralysis of the muscles. There is no known cause or cure for ALS, and death usually results from respiratory failure in 2 to 5 years. To date, we have raised over $1,383,132 and plan to raise over $200,000 this year.
