robbery at L Street gas station
Looks like someone needed a cigarette and he needed one bad. In the wee hours of the morning – around 1:30am on Thursday, two South Boston men, smashed the glass front door of the Gulf Station on L Street and stole boxes of Marlboro cigarettes.
Mark Powell, 48 and David Sweester, 46 were arrested shortly after witness called in a report of the two men fleeing in a gray car. The Boston police found the two smokers at the corner of L and Fifth.
Police discovered a trash bag filled with cigarettes in the vehicle and promptly arrested the two for breaking and entering, intent to commit a felony, and buying, receiving or concealing stolen goods.
