Times a tickin!
Did you watch the second mayoral debate last night between Annissa Essaibi-George and Michelle Wu on NBC10 last night? If you missed it, things got a little feisty between the candidates with topics including rent control, education, police, the MBTA and even husbands.
Essaibi-George held no punches and went after Wu throughout the hour-long debate from everything from Wu’s inconsistent messaging re: Exam Schools depending on which neighborhood she’s in to calling out Wu’s connection to a luxury developer – a friend who developed a $365 million project in the South End and was originally a partner in the purchasing of Wu’s home in Roslindale covered by the Boston Herald.
Wu mainly denied allegations and remained composed while on the defense and managed to still articulate her campaign’s messaging of change/progress, equity and partnerships with the community. Although she did get fired up and compared Essabi-George’s criticisms and allegations to Trumpism.
NBC has some takeaways here.
The Boston Herald has a recap here.
