Pickup truck smashes into the corner of L and Broadway, knocking over not one, but two poles.
Gheesh! This is no way to start off a work week.
On Monday morning, during rush hour traffic. A pickup truck, driving erratically, smashed into not one, but two poles at the corner of L and Broadway. Luckily, the #7 had just picked up roughly 30 commuters before the incident took place. BFD and BPD responded, and miraculously, no one was hurt. A crane was on site removing the street poles.
From one witness, “I saw the guy in the pickup coming out of the gas station at L and Fourth and driving aggressively, weaving around traffic. That intersection is always a shit-show anyway, so you need to have your head on a swivel whether you’re in a car or a pedestrian.”
Be careful out there!

A BOLLARD on EVERY SINGLE CORNER of EVERY SINGLE INTERSECTION from Day Blvd to E First…and then intermittently up and down Summer St, all the way to D. The exposure on this particular roadway is TERRIFYING. If Wutin can afford bike lanes, she (well… “WE”) can afford bollards. The fact that this particular corner, a HIGHLY UTILIZED bus stop, was not crammed with commuters is nothing short of a minor miracle.
My God this could have been horrific (as we all know…🙏🏻👼🏻🙏🏻).

..:a vertical post that is short and sturdy used for security to prevent vehicles from crashing into buildings or pedestrian areas.
Thank God no one was at the bus stop…so many people could have been hurt 🙏
I’m surprised that more accidents don’t happen there the way people race through the lights.
Unfortunately, these events are bound to happen. Councilor Flynn continues to fight against speed restriction and road diets. Traffic enforcement is non existent and more people are going to get hurt.
