Operation Crosswalk on Day Blvd: Let’s keep it going!

“Bad boys, bad boys! Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you!”
On Friday on Day Blvd, the State Police set up a little crosswalk sting. You know, it’s when a plain clothes officer poses as a pedestrian standing in a crosswalk waiting to cross. When drivers fail to stop to let the pedestrians cross, a cruiser lying in wait pulls the vehicle over and gives them a ticket.
Our Southie “boots on the ground” let us know of Operation Crosswalk going down and we quickly walked to Day Boulevard at M Street Beach to check it out for ourselves. And low and behold, we witnessed several cars pulled over for failing to stop for a pedestrian.
We say keep it going! It would be great to see BPD set up another Operation Crosswalk on L Street and Farragut Road!
