From your mouths to the MBTA’s ears!

Thanks to your feedback, the MBTA is proposing a new and improved route for the #9. In order to provide a faster and more reliable Route 9, the MBTA will straighten out the Broadway Station routing to turn left on Dorchester Ave. in the inbound direction.

From this new route the follow will happen:

  • 3 minute faster trip for 2,186 – 34%) riders traveling past Broadway Station
  • 115 passenger hours saved each weekday
  • 54 new passenger trips each weekday

So what do you think?

The MBTA is asking for your feedback! You can offer it up here!
Feedback will close on March 13, 2019

    “Turn Left on Dot Ave”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but does that imply people will have to cross the street to get the station? I personally couldn’t care less, but the bus will have to pull up to the sidewalk, then cut across a lane of traffic to take said left. RIP to the double parking there (thank god) if this is the case.

Kind of makes sense, but I will hold my final verdict until we get more than a vague sentence of direction.

What we really need is more buses on the route, especially during rush hour (which, on the number nine bus route, starts at about 7 am). What good is saving a few seconds when you’ve waited literally 40 minutes for a bus to go by that has room for more passengers??

seriously in my opinion way to do many #7, 9 and 11 buses what about the #10 bus have they forgotten about people who live in that area and never mind the #5 bus which stops from city point to Mary Ellen at 3:00 well some people who depend on this bus their lives don’t stop at 2:30pm from Mary Ellen the last #5 and 3:00 from city point believe me many times i’ve had groceries and had to walk from Andrew Station because #5 doesn’t run after certain time and then you have to take #10 to Andrew get off and wait until 16 Umass comes and like the #10 the #16 is always running late not everyone can hop in cab ???? to go home or uber just wishing MBTA would just recognize the other part of South Boston I have brought this issue up before and all hogwash until you deal with it you’re not going to even understand thank you just venting about the other side of Southie MBTA seems to forget about

We need more buses on the schedule, not a faster route.
