Southie is growing by leaps and bounds – especially the waterfront! Well, we are about to get a new and very luxurious hotel complete with a giant ballroom, 1000 rooms (holy moly) and maybe even a skating rink!
According to an article written by Jon Chesto in the Boston Globe, Massport’s board approved the plans for the hotel located at the corner of D and Summer – right across from the Boston Convention Center.
This new “destination” hotel is owned by Omni Hotels & Resorts and will feature two 20-story towers with retail and restaurant space and a spa and fitness center. The cost of the project is $550 million.
