And the neighborhood just keeps growing!
On Tuesday, the Boston Globe reported that Alexion Pharmaceuticals will be leaving its home in Connecticut, and setting up its headquarters in the Seaport District aka Headquarters City. Just last week it was announced that PTC – a global technology company will be moving its headquarters from Needham to the South Boston waterfront. Alexion and PTC is joining the ranks of many companies moving their headquarters to the neighborhood*. We’ve got America’s Test Kitchen, General Electric, Amazon and Reebok now calling Southie their home!
In retail news, Better Bagels will be opening its doors at 73 Seaport Blvd. Equinox is slated to open this fall at 80 Seaport Blvd. in addition to Tuscan Kitchen and Market at Twenty Two Liberty. It was also announced this week that The Smoke Shop BBQ will be opening in the old Tavern Road spot on Congress Street!
*Before everyone gets their panties in a bunch and start making comments, the Seaport District and Fort Point are South Boston. And to quote my partner in crime at CIS, Heather Foley, “If it’s not South Boston then why does our resident sticker work there?” Good point, Heather. Good point.
