The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 1,118 new cases, bringing the total to 7,738 in Massachusetts. More than 51,000 tests have been administered but officials believe the true totals may be significantly higher than what is currently reported.

Boston currently has 1,233 cases and ten deaths.

The National Guard are working to transform the DCU Center in Worcester into the state’s first field hospital with 250 beds. It was also announced that the state’s second Covid-19 field hospital will be created inside the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in South Boston.

Governor Charlie Baker also reiterated the importance of social distancing and how it helps to slow the virus’ spread.

Baker also announced that Mark Pearlstein – a former federal prosecutor has been hired to investigate the recent deaths at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home where 13 people have recently died.
