Joseph Masciave, owner of legendary Joseph’s Bakery + Deli has passed away. His daughter Nancy posted the following message on social media.

Since 1967, Joseph’s Bakery has been a neighborhood staple, serving delicious breads, pastries, cookies, pizza, chicken parmesan, and more!
Back in 2023, it was announced that Joseph’s would be closing. The bakery’s operators announced they would open a new bakery and coffee shop, which is now the wildly popular Annie’s at the corner of L and Broadway.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Masciave family. Thank you for being a vital and delicious part of of our neighborhood for over 50 years!

And it never will be.
