Holy Mackerel! Well, actually tuna…

Wicked Tuna

A local fisherman and member of the Columbia Yacht Club – Rick Coyne – caught a whopper on Sunday afternoon. This giant tuna was reeled in off the coast of Provincetown on the Mike Luongo’s boat the Side Gig. The big boy weighed a total of 515 pounds. Coyne sold the monster tuna to a local seafood vendor at the historic Boston Fish Pier.

This image was captured on Boston Harbor by Dot Malone on twitter (who is a great follow, by the way)!
We once featured Rick Coyne on Caught in Southie about five years ago when he ran 50 miles to celebrate his 50th birthday and to honor his mother’s memory!
On a side note, Coyne is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month with pink buoys on his lobster boat the Erin -Sinead (named after his nieces). On each buoy are the initials of friends and family members affected by the disease.
