Talk about setting back Southie by thirty years.  You may recall that last August,  after attending a Red Sox game on Scott Leader, 38 and his younger brother Steve Leader, 30 from South Boston decided to pee on a homeless guy and then beat the shit out of him with a metal pole at JFK Station in Dorchester.  The reason for this unprovoked attack?  Apparently they were sick of “illegal immigrants” and inspired by a speech by GOP party front runner Donald Trump.  The homeless man is Hispanic.  These two jabronis were just sentenced on Monday.  The two pleaded guilty to a list of charges including: assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery for the purpose of intimidation because of national origin, open and gross lewdness, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and threatening to commit a crime. Scott Leader received a three-year sentence, while Steve Leader was sentenced to 18 months in jail.  Both men will serve three years’ probation following their prison sentences.

As to Donald Trump’s reaction when asked about the incident back in August, Trump stated,  “I will say, the people that are following me are very passionate. They love this country. They want this country to be great again. But they are very passionate. I will say that.”

Passionate enough to pick up a metal pole and beat a homeless guy passionate.  Talk about an understatement.
