BPD arrest two and recover one loaded firearm in South Boston

One Less Gun: At about 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 28 Gavin Way in South Boston. While enroute to the area, officers were provided a description of the suspect as well as information that the suspect was operating a red Jeep Wrangler. Officers arrived at the scene and located the unoccupied Jeep. Officers began to search the area for the suspect while an additional officer remained with the vehicle. At this time, a male matching the description of the suspect as well as a female, approached the vehicle. The male entered the vehicle on the driver’s side, but was immediately removed from the car by the officer who was monitoring. The officer quickly recovered a black Walther PPQ .22 caliber firearm loaded with ten rounds of live ammunition from within the male’s waistband. The male was taken into custody. The female was identified and also taken into custody. Additionally, officers recovered three plastic bags containing marijuana and thirteen plastic bags containing THC gummies.
Officers arrested the operator, Shaheed Collins, 34-years-old, of Boston and the female, Kimeesha Monroe-Cox, 27-years-old, of South Boston. Both are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court. Collins is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Monroe-Cox is charged with Possession with intent to Distribute Class D Drugs. Monroe-Cox also had an active warrant for Assault and Battery out of Brockton District Court.
