Boot of Shame: BTD Cracks Down on Parking Scofflaws in Southie

Oh boy, looks like the Boston Transportation Department was out in full force this week, handing out the dreaded yellow boots to parking scofflaws across Southie.
Up and down neighborhood streets, cars were spotted sporting the infamous “Boot of Shame.” So, what does it take to get booted? In Boston, having three or more outstanding parking tickets can land you in this situation. And the only way to get that boot removed? Pay up.
According to the City of Boston website, once you pay your outstanding tickets at the Parking Clerk’s Office or City tow lot, the boot will be removed within 90 minutes. Payments made after 7pm mean you’ll have to wait until the next day.
The City accepts cash, cashier’s checks, money orders, and Mastercard or Visa debit and credit cards. Personal and business checks are not accepted.
Consider this your friendly neighborhood reminder to pay those parking tickets. The City will catch up with you eventually.
You’ve been warned.
