Initially, it was announced that the Harry McDonough Sailing Center would not reopen for the 2020 season.  Well, great news, it was posted on social media on Monday that the sailing center will open with restrictions.  Returning sailors and their siblings ages 8-15 are welcome back July 21st-August 28th Tuesdays through Thursdays!

EXCITING NEWS!!

Now that Boston has entered Phase 3 of re-opening we are able to open with restrictions. We are busy preparing the center and we are excited to see returning sailors.

  • We will be opening to returning sailors and their siblings ages 8-15 only beginning July 21st through August 28th Tuesdays-Thursdays.
  • Sailors who aged out last year are invited back this year.
  • We will offer two sessions daily. 9-12 and 1-4. All sailors must be pre-registered.
  • We are UNABLE to teach lessons on boats this summer. Sailors can only sail with family members.
  • Staff and sailors must remain 6ft apart when possible and wear face coverings when it is not possible.
  • Parents must drop off sailors and stay to perform the health questionnaires. Only essential staff may enter the center.
  • Sign-ups begin today and end on July 19th. Based on the number of applicants, we will be offering as many slots as we can to each sailor. Anyone registering after the 19th will be offered slots as they are available.Please understand that guidelines for Youth Programs are stricter than for the general public.
