Tuesday in our mailbox, on Election Day, we received another campaign mailer from David Biele – candidate for State Rep.  There was nothing really unusual about it until we turned it over.  Then low and behold we saw the Caught in Southie logo used twice with quotes from press release from the Biele campaign.  Although CIS did post the press releases in our publication, this flyer seems to suggest that CIS is in fact supporting Biele.  This is not true.

We find this mailer intentionally misleading with no time to correct or set the record straight.  As policy, our goal is to inform voters by posting any and all press releases submitted by candidates for any office.

David Biele is running for State Representative in the Fourth District against candidate Matt Rusteika.

We encourage you to vote!  Make your own decision!

    This is calculated and slimy.

Fun fact, you never labeled those press releases as press releases when you posted them. In fact you labeled them as “NEWS”. Which means, as an editor, that’s how you chose to post them – and mislead your audience, as well.

That’s weak. Regardless of whether or not they were labeled press releases or news is irrelevant to the fact that they were knowingly presented in such a way that implied they were endorsements/ statements made by the respective publication. See comment 1.

Fun Fact: the two “quotes” that were used with the Caught in Southie logo were directly from Letters to the Editor clearly labeled in the title of the news/politics section written by Biele himself.

What?!?!? The Biele campaign knew exactly what they were doing. For you to spin this and try to turn it around on CIS is so ignorant.

This is so small and irrelevant…who cares aside from Maureen? Nobody. These positions barely have any sway in the grand scheme of things, plus, Rusteika or whatever his name is has clearly proven his incompetence through his own “letters to the editor”….guy is an entitled piece of work. “I’m OFS vote for me”….k buddy, look around, southie aint southie anymore, he’s lucky Yuppies don’t stay around long enough to care to vote.

The Rusteika’s are without a doubt one if the snobbiest/pretentious/pompous people i have ever encountered.. He thinks he is entitled to this position because he is “a lifetime southie resident.” blatant lie…just happy to not have to see him or his family as the face of Southie.

Irrelevant. Rusteika is moving back to Somerville. And looking for a job. The BC/BC Law Grad, Beale is moving into his state house office. Honestly, does anyone really care about a Caught in Southie (CIS direct or indirect endorsements ? The best leading indicator of who is going to win or lose an election in Southie is a house sign on the head of the City Point Association. She is Zero for life on backing candidates. Too bad Susan can’t give her a Bump!
