4-Alarm Fire in South Boston leaving $2M in damages

Around 5:20pm, Boston fire responded to a call for a fire at 409 East Seventh Street. Upon arrival flames were showing with heaving fire throughout the two-and-a-half story attached building. A third alarm was called. Shortly after, a fourth alarm was ordered. The building was unoccupied and undergoing construction.
The house next door at 407 East Seventh Street was occupied and all residents were safely evacuated. BFD eventually knocked down the fire and contained it.
Two firefighters were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. Six adults and one child were displaced from 407 E Seventh.
Damages are estimated at $2 million. The BFD Fire Investigation Unit was scene to figure out the cause of the fire. BFD detail companies remained on scene to monitor hot spots.
