2 people dead, 1 injured in Southie Friday night.
On Friday night, Boston police were called to 141 Dorchester Ave – the Macallen Building for a report of a man with a gun at approximately 8:45am. According to the Boston Globe, Officers then exchanged gunshots with the man, who was injured. A SWAT team investigated the building and discovered the two victims who were found bound with their throats cut. The victims Dr. Lina Bolanos, 38 and Dr. Richard Field, 49. The suspect has been identified by police as Bampumim Teixeira, 30, of Chelsea.

At about 8:38 PM on Friday May 5, 2017, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 141 Dorchester Avenue in South Boston. On arrival, the officers made entry to the building and observed a male suspect armed with a firearm. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect immediately began firing at the officers, causing them to return fire. During the exchange, the suspect was struck by the officers and after a violent struggle, placed in custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries as a result of gunshot wounds. No police officers were struck by gun fire but several were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A subsequent protective sweep of the location by members of the BPD SWAT Team led to the discovery of two victims suffering from traumatic injuries who were pronounced deceased on scene. The victims have since been identified as Richard Fields, 49, of Boston and Lina Bolanos, 38, of Boston.
Multiple charges will be finalized and sought against the suspect in South Boston District Court. This incident will continue to be investigated by the BPD Homicide Unit, Fire Arms Discharge Investigation Team and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation remains active and updated information will be provided when possible.
