The BFD was called to 31 Mercer Street on Tuesday night around 8pm for a report of a fire.  Upon arrival fire was showing and by 8:25pm the fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire. A 48 year-old woman was rescued from the back porch of the third floor.  Two residents and three firefighters were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire is estimated to be about $800,000 in damages.

    Oh, my gosh! That looks like a really horrible fire!! Glad the woman on the back porch of the third floor, as well as the two residents and the three firefighters got out, were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries. $800, 000.00 in damages to property, however, is an awful lot. Sorry that happened.

    Was the woman on the back porch of the third floor who was rescued all right? I hope so.

      Yes I’m going to be ok. Very greatful foe my son who saved my grandmother and his brother. He also yelled for me waking me up giving me the time to get on the porch for the firemen to save me. This is the story the news should of had instead of other people saying they rescued us.
